MULTIVERSEPhase 5•Multiverse Saga•Essential Priority
Deadpool & Wolverine
2024-07-26 128 min Shawn Levy Earth-10005 (Fox X-Men), The Void & Earth-616
Narrative Synopsis
A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life until the Time Variance Authority pulls him into a mission to save his dying universe, forcing him to recruit a broken Wolverine variant from across the multiverse.
WHY SHOULD I WATCH THIS?
THE MULTIVERSE CONVERGENCE MASTERPIECE. Bridges the 20th Century Fox Marvel legacy (X-Men, Blade, Daredevil, Fantastic Four) directly into the Marvel Studios ecosystem using the TVA and The Void.
WHAT SHOULD I REMEMBER?
- Every universe has an "Anchor Being"—when that being dies (Logan in Earth-10005), that universe gradually withers away.
- The Void at the End of Time (introduced in Loki) is where pruned timeline variants fight for survival.
- Cassandra Nova (Charles Xavier's twin sister) controls The Void using telepathic dominance.
- Deadpool and Wolverine use the Time Ripper to save Earth-10005 and bring Laura (X-23) into their timeline.
WHAT DOES THIS CONNECT TO?
- Direct continuation of TVA lore established in Loki Seasons 1 & 2.
- Brings Hugh Jackman's Wolverine into the active Marvel Multiverse roster.
- Directly sets up Secret Wars multiversal crossover roster.
Doomsday RelevanceEssential
Crucial: establishes Anchor Beings, the Void, and how non-MCU legacy heroes integrate into the Multiverse before Doomsday.
Post-Credits Scenes (1)Importance: Fun
Wade reveals TVA archival footage proving Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) really did say all those vulgar things about Cassandra Nova.
Plot Resolution Summary:Deadpool and Wolverine sacrifice themselves to short-circuit the Time Ripper, surviving together and revitalizing Earth-10005 alongside Laura.
