The Multiverse Saga
The boundary-shattering second era of the MCU. Triggered by the liberation of the Sacred Timeline and mystical disruptions, infinite alternate realities, variants, and legacy cinematic universes (Sony Spider-Man, Fox X-Men, Fantastic Four) collide as the fabric of existence faces extinction through Incursions.
Universal boundaries are breaking down. When two universes collide (an Incursion), both are utterly destroyed. While variants and factions clash, Victor Von Doom emerges with the ruthless ambition to save existence by forging an autocratic new order.
Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, leading to the creation of Battleworld and the eventual birth of a unified Marvel universe.
Phases in The Multiverse Saga
Phase 4: Post-Blip Grief & The Multiverse Unleashed
In the chaotic vacuum left after Tony Stark’s death and the return of billions, heroes confront intimate personal trauma. Meanwhile, the destruction of the Sacred Timeline in the TVA and mystical disruptions rip open the barriers between alternate realities.
Phase 5: Quantum Chaos, Secret Agendas & Mutants Converge
The cracks in the multiverse widen as cosmic and temporal anomalies proliferate. From the depths of the Quantum Realm to the timeline-preserving Time Variance Authority, disparate universes—including Fox’s X-Men universe—collide with the MCU.
Phase 6: The Fantastic Four, Incursions & Secret Wars
The grand climax of the Multiverse Saga. Incursions accelerate at a catastrophic rate, threatening the total collapse of every known universe. With the arrival of the Fantastic Four from an alternate 1960s and the iron ascent of Victor Von Doom, reality faces its ultimate test.
